Temperatures fluctuate in cycles. If you uncritically extrapolate temperature at any point, you can show future warming or future cooling. So if a baby weighs about 8 pounds at birth and 23 pounds 16 month later, You can predict that the child will weigh in at 970 pounds when reaching adulthood and probably more than a ton at retirement. Climate is not linear and probably not dependent on carbon dioxide concentration.
